Hiring managers in busy warehouses skim dozens of CVs. The ones that get interviews show proof of performance in the first few lines—clear licences, shift flexibility and hard numbers that signal reliability and speed. Here’s how to make your CV do exactly that.

Why metrics win interviews

Numbers cut through noise. “Picked 200 UPH at 99.6% accuracy” is more persuasive than “hard-working picker.” Managers are protecting KPIs and safety records; your CV should demonstrate you can protect them too.

What to lead with (top third of page)

  • Licences with expiry dates: Reach, Counterbalance, VNA, PPT (include month/year).
  • Shifts you’ll work: Nights, Days, Weekends, 4-on/4-off, overtime.
  • KPI highlights: Pick rate (UPH), accuracy %, damages %, on-time dispatch rate.
  • Right-to-work & notice: RTW status and how soon you can start.

Put these above your work history so they’re seen in the first five seconds.

Translate duties into numbers

Take each task and add a measurable outcome. Use this quick formula: Task + Volume/Speed + Quality/Safety.
Example: “Goods-in receiving” → “Booked 30+ pallets/hour with 99% ASN match; zero lost-time incidents in 2024.”

Bullet ideas by task (ready to paste)

  • Picking/Packing: Averaged 200 UPH on fast-move lanes; supported wave launches with <0.4% errors.
  • Goods-In/Receiving: Checked and booked 30–40 pallets/hour; reconciled variances in WMS within same shift.
  • Goods-Out/Dispatch: Built and wrapped 45+ pallets/shift; maintained on-time dispatch at 98–100%.
  • Replenishment: Completed 90+ bin moves/shift; stock variance reduced by 15% after cycle counts.
  • FLT (Reach/CB/VNA): Moved 400–600 pallets/shift in racked aisles up to 11m; zero reportable incidents.
  • Chilled/Frozen: Worked at 0°C to –18°C; adhered to temperature logging and PPE rules.
  • Team Lead: Trained 8 new starters; cut picking errors by 15% within two months.

Pick the bullets that match your experience; keep the best three to five for each job.

Show safety and compliance

  • Report zero lost-time incidents, manual-handling training dates and any near-miss reporting.
  • Add site inductions completed (e.g., cold-store, high-bay, MHE).
  • Mention PPE compliance and RAMS awareness if relevant.

Safety signals reduce hiring risk and help you beat similar CVs.

Format that gets skimmed

  • One or two pages, clean fonts, clear headings and breathable spacing.
  • Bold the numbers and licences; keep paragraphs to one or two lines.
  • Use past tense for previous roles, present tense for current.
  • Save as PDF unless the employer asks for Word.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Listing licences without expiry dates.
  • Writing responsibilities with no results.
  • Burying shift availability or notice period.
  • Typos in employer names, dates or KPIs.
  • Cramming everything into dense paragraphs—managers won’t read them.

  2. Snapshot: 2–3 lines with years of experience + top KPIs + licences.
  3. Key Licences & Tickets: With expiry dates.
  4. Core Skills: WMS, MHE, RF scanners, cycle counting, health & safety.
  5. Work History: 3–4 roles with 3–5 metric-led bullets each.
  6. Education/Training: Recent, relevant courses (e.g., First Aid, Manual Handling).
  7. Availability & RTW: Start date and right-to-work status.

Final checks before sending

  • File name like Firstname-Lastname-Warehouse-Operative-CV.pdf.
  • Contact details correct and professional email used.
  • Licences visible on page one; KPIs bolded.
  • Referees “available on request” unless asked to include them.
